William Brandon (Butch) Davisson is the Deputy Comptroller for Global Financial Services in the Bureau of the Comptroller and Global Financial Services (CGFS). Located in Charleston, South Carolina, he is responsible for the Department’s financial centers in Charleston and Bangkok, including global compensation and accounting. Prior to this position, he served as the Managing Director for the CGFS’ Office of Oversight and Management Analysis and as the Senior Advisor to the Department’s Chief Financial Officer and Comptroller.

Butch began his Federal career in 1993 as a program assistant in the Fulbright Exchange Program in the former U.S. Information Agency. After receiving a Master Degree in Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh, he participated in the Presidential Management Fellow (PMF) Program from 1999 to 2001 with the Broadcasting Board of Governors. Butch worked on the House Appropriation Committee for the 2003 appropriation cycle and for several years as a Program Examiner in the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), International Affairs Division. His OMB examiner portfolio included Department of State operating accounts and Presidential management agenda initiatives. Butch made his way to CGFS Charleston in 2007.
