EXECUTIVE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT
ACTING DEPUTY CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICERIn January, 2009, Don Hertig assumed responsibilities as the Deputy Chief Financial Officer for the Executive Office of the President of the United States (EOP). In his role, he oversees financial operations (accounting, budget, financial systems, and fiscal policy) for the offices of the President, Vice President, National Security Council, Council of Economic Advisers, Executive Residence, U.S. Trade Representative, and various other offices providing direct support to the President. Prior to this, Don served as the EOP Budget Officer (2005-2008).
Prior to joining the EOP, Don served as the Deputy Budget Officer for the Architect of the Capitol, managing infrastructure budgets for the U.S. Capitol, House and Senate, Supreme Court, and the Library of Congress.
Don also served 20 years with the U.S. Navy, serving as a Supply Corps Officer where he completed tours with the National Reconnaissance Office (comptroller and contracts support), Naval Air Systems Command (contracting officer), USS THORN, USS RODNEY M. DAVIS, and various other posts.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida, a Master’s degree from the Naval Postgraduate School, and a Master’s certificate from Berklee College of Music. He and his wife currently reside in Northern Virginia.
